The
W Diamond L Ranch is located in the mesa and canyon country of northeastern
New Mexico. Just over the borders of Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas, approximately
40 miles northeast of the community of Des Moines, New Mexico. It was
started by Suzanne's maternal grandparents: A F and Bessie Willett in
1919 when they came from Oklahoma to homestead. The W Diamond L brand
for
cattle and horses in New Mexico also came into being in 1919 when the
Willett's moved to New Mexico.
Today
the northern half of the original Willett ranch is run by: Ted and Suzanne
Bennefield under the name W Diamond L Ranch. We raise commercial cattle,
quarter and paint horses. We offer a limited amount of hunting on the
ranch for antelope, deer, turkey, bear and mountain lion.
There is a varied group of wildlife commonly found in our area:
Pronghorn Antelope | Coyotes | Turkey | Mule Deer | Elk | Bald Eagles
| Fox | Bear |
Mountain Lion
